The Lux mark.
Valux reads as value and lux, light. The mark is two rays converging on a focus they never reach.
The gap is the idea. Letters connect; a convergence does not. Stopping both strokes short of the focal point takes the form out of the alphabet — the focus of a lens is a point light passes through, not a place anything touches. The eye closes the gap on its own, so the mark still resolves as a V without ever being drawn as one.
Two cuts — display above, icon below
iOS composites onto an opaque bitmap and applies its own mask, so the home screen icon sits on porcelain.

Construction — the focus is drawn, never inked
The 48 grid carries 7.6 units of space either side of the ink. Set the mark by its box and the spacing is already right.

Never close the gap
Join the two rays and the focus stops being a focus. What is left is the letter V, which is the one thing this mark exists not to be.
Never even the taper
Each ray narrows 2.8:1 on its way down. Flatten that to a constant width and the drawing reads as a font glyph rather than as light with a direction.
Never put it in a box
It is a figure, not a tile. A filled container turns a hairline mark into a slab and throws away the space the grid already provides. The one exception is the iOS touch icon, which the platform forces.
Both cuts are drawn in components/Logo.jsx, which exports them along with the ink box. The favicon in app/icon.svg carries no ground at all — it reads the browser’s colour scheme and inverts itself. Only app/apple-icon.png is raster, and only because iOS demands an opaque bitmap.
